Throughout the year SACC of the Carolinas presents an array of inspiring events -- some with a business orientation and some with a social flavor that offer opportunities for networking.

SACC Activities

Dear SACC of the Carolinas Members and Friends,
 
Please mark your calendars for the sixth SACC Classic Golf Invitational -- on Friday, May 30, 2008.  The tournament will take place at the beautiful Stoney Creek Golf Club, where YOU will get Championship Golf in a First Class Atmosphere. 
 
Stoney Creek Golf Club is one of North Carolina's premier golf experiences, although a tough challenge. Voted #1 New Public Golf Course in North Carolina and Top 25 in the country by Golf Digest in 1993.  Stoney Creek is conveniently located at Exit 135 off I-85 & I-40, just a few miles west of Burlington.
 
We urge you to invite your customers, friends, colleagues and other business associates for a great day of golf and camaraderie!
This is your chance to promote your company and support SACC at the same time!
 
Your participation is instrumental in making this year’s event even more successful, and is accomplished only with the generosity of you and your corporation.
 
As a Hole Sponsor you have the benefit of displaying your Company Sign at a particular hole, tee and/or green, and sponsor recognition.
 
Hole Sponsorships:
$600 - Hole Sponsorship including a foursome:  Green fee, cart, gift set, breakfast and lunch for four people, company signs at one hole, and sponsor recognition.
 
$250 - Hole Sponsorship without Golf:  Displaying your Company Sign at one hole, and sponsor recognition.
 
Individual player:
$80 - per player.  This includes a gift set, light breakfast, green fee, cart and a tasty lunch from Fairways at Stoney Creek.  The Awards Ceremony will take place immediately after the luncheon.
 
Format:
Foursome scramble (Captains Choice).
 
We’re also accepting donations for prizes and items for the gift bags.

Activity Announcement
Stoney Creek
– The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC) of the Carolinas’ 5th Annual Classic Golf Invitational Tournament took place at the beautiful Stoney Creek Golf Club on May 18, 2007. 
      The tournament was hosted and sponsored by SACC of the Carolinas. Other valued sponsors were:  Nomacorc, Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, Quintiles Inc. , Saab Barracuda LLC, Scandinavian Airline SystemS, Skanska USA Building Inc., Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan L.L.P., Sony Ericsson, Stoney Creek Golf Club, SWEA NC,
Trenco-Iris USA, Inc., and Volvo Trucks North America.
      The day started with a light breakfast and after Peter Lindroos and Paul’s opening remarks the tournament got under way with a 10 am shotgun start, meaning teams teed off at the same time from different holes.  The format of the tournament was a Foursome Scramble.
      The driving forces of the tournament were Peter Lindroos, Anders Molne, Annika Mannerstrale and Ulla Karlsson.  Volunteers at the registration table were Eva Eriksson and Christina S. Messick and Leif Karlsson was in charge of the putting contest. 
        For $10 players could try their luck at making a putt on the practice green between the ninth and 10th holes.  As 3rd man in team F-Origin, after intensely studying the break Anders Molne was the 1st to sink the ball.  Stefan Lindvall also made the putt, which lead to a putt out between the two, Anders nudging an inch closer to the hole.
      When all the teams had finished a delicious luncheon was served from the Fairways Grill, during which the award ceremony took place.  Peter Lindroos handed out the awards and thanked all of the volunteers, sponsors, and welcoming every one back for next years tournament.
        When all the scores were in, team SAAB Barracuda with Magnus Natt och Dag, Robert Martin, EJ Womack, and Nick Womack had the best score and they each carried home a Golf Wedge and the team was also presented with a trophy.
      Team Molne with Anders Molne, Sean Ahr, Gunilla Davidsson,and Bryan Warner, were runner up.  They each won a Volvo Ocean Race Leather Duffel Bag containing various items and the team also received a trophy.
      Third place, team Quintiles with Peter Lindroos, Scott Neff, Drew Smith, and Ben Davis each won a beautiful crystal paperweight with the SACC logo.
Nick Womack of SAAB Barracuda team had the longest drive and Dave Blivin was closest to the pin in the mens competition. While Gunilla Davidsson of the Molne team had the longest drive and Ylva Westin was closest to the pin in the ladies competition.
      Several other prizes were awarded and last but not least was the Raffle drawing of wonderful prizes such as two Orrefors crystal bowls donated by Scandinavian Airline Systems, mobile phones from Sony Ericsson, several different items from Quintiles, two wine bottles w/double carrier from Trenco-Iris and many more prizes donated by our many generous sponsors.
